ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) — Officials in Rockland say they’ve gotten word the Maine Department of Transportation will pay to repair a 50- by 25-foot sinkhole that opened in about 90 minutes. The first report of problems with the Old County Road came at about 4:30 p.m. Monday. By 6 p.m. the hole had appeared. Traffic was detoured onto U.S. Route 1.
