The Maine Senate today voted 22-12 to reappoint Dale McCormick of Augusta to the job of director of the Maine State Housing Authority.

McCormick, a former Democratic state lawmaker and state treasurer, was recommended for the post by Gov. John Baldacci and confirmed by the Legislature's Business, Research and Economic Development Committee.

The only person to speak in the Senate was business committee chairwoman Sen. Elizabeth Schneider, D-Orono, who praised McCormick for her innovations and willingness to work with lawmakers.
