PEAKS ISLAND -- A fire that broke out in a building here before daybreak is no longer burning, although investigators are still on the scene trying to sort out the mess. The fire started in a two-story building near 116 Upper A and was burning when fire crews from the island and the mainland responded. However, it was contained to the structure and did not spread. There also were no injuries reported. No word yet on a cause.
