A downed power line has cut off power to about 3,200 homes and businesses in and around the Munjoy Hill section of Portland, according to Central Maine Power.

CMP expects to have the problem fixed within the hour, said Gail Rice, a company spokeswoman.

Rice said the power line came down this morning at Federal and India streets, although she did not know what caused of the incident. There was no motor vehicle accident involved, according to the city’s fire department.
