Portland adult ed moves for summer

PORTLAND — Portland Adult Education offices and classes held at the former Baxter Elementary School on Ocean Avenue have moved to Portland Arts and Technology High School on Allen Avenue for the summer.

School officials are making way for the demolition of the Baxter School and construction of a new school at the site.

Adult education offices will be housed in the guidance suite on the first floor of PATHS through July 31. Adult education classes taking place from June 22 through July 31 will be held at PATHS.

The phone and fax numbers will remain the same.

On Aug. 3, adult education offices and classes will move from PATHS to Riverton Elementary School off outer Forest Avenue, which will be their home for the next few years.

Adult education offices and classes held at the former West Elementary School on Douglass Street will remain unchanged.
