AUGUSTA -- Maine energy officials say the average price for home heating oil is unchanged for the third week in a row at $2.56 a gallon. The Governor's Office of Energy Independence and Security said today that prices ranged from a low of $2.22 per gallon in the western Maine to a high of $2.85 per gallon in the eastern part of the state. Director John Kerry says mild weather has stabilized prices in the short term, but he says prices for heating oil and other petroleum-based products will eventually go up because of the downward shift in the value of the dollar, international speculation and anticipated colder weather.
