STANDISH – A 79-year-old man from Gorham died Tuesday after his ATV flipped over on him, the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said.
Roland Levesque died when he rode his ATV down an embankment on the side of a trail, a department spokeswoman said. The ATV flipped over and part of it landed on Levesque, who complained of pain in his side and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where he died.
The accident took place about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, the spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said the department is still gathering information about the accident and may have more details later today.
