CMP hopes to restore all power by tonight

Central Maine Power Co. hopes to have the last of the 3,000 customers still without power since Monday’s storm restored by the end of the day.

CMP spokesman John Carroll said the utility has had 1,000 workers in the field since Tuesday working to restore the outages, which left more than 130,000 homes and businesses without power at one point.

Most of the homes that still don’t have power are in coastal Cumberland, Sagadahoc and Lincoln counties along with some isolated seasonal homes in Waldo County.

Many of the out-of-state crews that flooded Maine to help with the storm damage have been returning to their home states.
