PORTLAND — The Boston Celtics assigned guard forward Bill Walker to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League on Sautrday.

Walker will be in uniform when the Red Claws play their first and only exhibition game Monday night at the Augusta Civic Center. Walker saw time with the Utah Flash of the NBA D-League last season.

In 15 games in the NBA D-League last fall, Walker averaged 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 points in 30.5 minutes. He scored a career-high 29 points in a road loss to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Nov. 29, 2008.
