Brunswick football knocks off Lawrence

FAIRFIELD — Rashon Edgerton caught a touchdown pass and threw a touchdown pass in the second half as the No. 3 Brunswick football team earned a come-from-behind 27-14 win over No. 2 Lawrence in a Pine Tree Conference Class A semifinal on Friday at Keyes Field.

Brunswick improves to 9-1 and advances to play No. 1 Bangor, a 25-13 winner over Messalonskee, in the conference final next week. Lawrence ends the year at 8-2.

Brunswick scored on a 1-yard run by Stephan Jensen late in the first half to tie the game at 14. Edgerton then caught a 23-yard pass from Jensen in the third quarter and threw a 43-yard pass to Dylan Walton in the fourth quarter.

Lawrence managed just 42 yards rushing in the second half.

Christian Powers scored on a 16-yard run and Bobby Belanger threw a 5-yard TD pass to Mark Yandian in the second quarter as Lawrence took a 14-7 lead. Brunswick had taken the lead on a 13-yard run by Edgerton in the first quarter.
