More than 3,400 people have been employed in Maine to work on transportation and water infrastructure projects as a result of federal stimulus money, Gov. John Baldacci said today.
Baldacci’s office released data through the first reporting period of the federal program. State government has spent about $400 million in recovery act money so far and the state as a whole is expected to receive in excess of $2 billion from the federal government.
“In just its first six months, the Recovery Act has created thousands of jobs, saved many more and paid direct benefits to Maine families that have helped them through the most challenging economy of our time,” Baldacci said in a statement.
The report can be found at www.maine.gov/recovery.

7 Months After Stimulus 49 of 50 States Have Lost Jobs
America Now Over 6 Million Jobs Shy of Administration's Projections
Wednesday, October 21, 2009
The table below compares the White House's February 2009 projection of the number of jobs that would be created by the 2009 stimulus law (through the end of 2010) with the actual change in state payroll employment through September 2009 (the latest figures available). According to the data, 49 States and the District of Columbia have lost jobs since stimulus was enacted. Only North Dakota has seen net job creation following the February 2009 stimulus. While President Obama claimed the result of his stimulus bill would be the creation of 3.5 million jobs, the Nation has already lost a total of 2.7 million – a difference of 6.2 million jobs.

Maine was projected to increase by 15,000, but we have actually lost 12,300 jobs.
Do you have any information
Do you have any information sources that are not propaganda arms of the Republican party?
Your information isn't particularly believable otherwise. A political party's (either one) take on any subject is presented through their lens of partisan spin and should be thoroughly and completely fact checked.
