FAYETTE — Lacey Badeau captured a vacant selectman’s seat in voting on Tuesday, according to unofficial results.

There were no declared candidates in the race to fill the seat Gerald Mitchell vacated in September. Badeau will serve the remainder of Mitchell’s term, which expires June 30, 2010.

Kevin Lewis had announced a write-in candidacy for Mitchell’s seat, but he collected only 52 votes, compared to Badeau’s 61.
