Auburn businessman to run for Congress

Jason Levesque, an Androscoggin County business and civic leader, announced today that he will seek the Republican nomination in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District.

The seat is currently held by Democrat Mike Michaud of East Millinocket, who was elected to his fourth term in November.

Levesque, 34, is the founder of Argo Marketing Group, which provides training, management and other services to telemarketing centers. He is a native of Baltimore whose family has roots in Aroostook County.

He said his priorities include improving the central and northern Maine economies so that Maine families don't have to leave the state to find prosperity.

"It’s time citizens with proven leadership experience in the real world went to Washington to create long-term solutions which would provide secure good paying jobs for Maine workers," Levesque said in a written statement.

Obama spoke of change and then he showed up to give us more of the same.  Electing a new congress will offer real change and at this point it is an "anybody but who we have now" mentality.  I don't know who this guy is or anything about him but I think someone who comes from a world where tough decisions have to be made is much better equiped to handle our current financial crisis than who we current have.  I hope this person is ready to campaign long and campaign a lot.  I also hope this person will run until elected.  That is what must happen.  A vending machine takes a few good rocks to tip over and the democrats in Congress are no exception.  A large heavy object taking up lots of valueable space.

Yes Rep. Michaud should campaign on his record of lost jobs, layoffs, closed factories, relocating youth, dwindling population, increased taxes and general misery.  I am sure Michaud has worked to create more good jobs for government employees.  Jobs that drain our economy.
