6 Maine superintendents win recognition

AUGUSTA — The Maine Superintendents Association presented its Outstanding Educational Leadership Award to five superintendents at Monday’s annual conference with Education Commissioner Susan Gendron in Bar Harbor.

The recipients were Clayton Belanger, School Administrative District  24, Van Buren; Robert Bouchard, Jr., School Union 74 and Great Salt Bay Central School District, Damariscotta; Donald Siviski, SAD 16, Hallowell; David Walker, Old Town School Department; and Thomas Ward, SAD 21, Dixfield.

The award recognizes exemplary leadership in educational programs, service to the education profession and service to the association.

Omar Norton, interim superintendent of SAD 26 and School Union 92 in Ellsworth, received the association’s distinguished service award.
