10:44 p.m., a report of an intoxicated person was investigated on Third Street.

IN ANSON, Wednesday at 3:43 p.m., fire units from Madison and Anson responded to a report of a furnace malfunction on Carrabassett Road.

IN ANSON, Tuesday at 10:11 a.m., a theft report was taken from River Road.

The Norridgewock board of selectmen will meet with Mercer and Smithfield selectmen for a tri-town workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 at the Mercer Town Office.

The Norridgewock town office will close at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10 for a staff meeting. The office will also be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day.

FAIRFIELD - Despite delcaring two weeks ago the he was no longer a candidate, Ed Finch finished second Tuesday in a five-way race for two positions on the town council.

The No on 1/Protect Maine Equality campaign officially conceded defeat early this morning in the vote on same-sex marriage.

The following election results were available by 12:30 a.m. Wednesday:

Question 1: same-sex marriage repeal, yes 2,520, no 3,000.
Question 2: excise tax, yes 1,495, no 3,817.
Question 3: school consolidation, yes 1,894, no 3,218.

Question 1: same-sex marriage repeal, yes 1491, no 1769.
Question 2: excise tax, yes 881, no 2297.
Question 3: school consolidation, yes 1588, no 1522.
